NYFW @ WORK
As much as I find Fashion Month interesting, it's hard to focus my mind on what is on trend for spring/summer 2016 when fall is quickly approaching. I also know that 9 times out of 10, anything I swoon over is beyond my budget. What I try to do every fashion week is pin items (literally on my inspiration board and electronically on my pinterest account) that I think I can recreate now and with items I can find anywhere. During NYFW, I found so much inspiration for my wardrobe, especially my workwear. I picked three of my favorites and found pieces available now to create workwear looks inspired by these awesome looks.
(1) COLORED SUIT - Marissa Webb makes all my fashion dreams come true. I feel like I would wear every single piece every time she has a runway show. Her designs are so simple, feminine and tailored. I would describe my personal style in that way. I also love all she's done for Banana Republic after joining. I love this colored suit. She always has a double-breasted item and I'm obsessed with double-breasted anything right now!
(2) CAPE BLAZER + MIDI SKIRT - a black suit is pretty much the quintessential work staple. That's why it's fun to switch it up with a unique silhouette. Instead of the classic blazer and pencil skirt combo, this suit by Yigal Azrouel combines a midi skirt and cape blazer. It's an interesting spin on the traditional suit!
(3) WHITE SHIRTDRESS - I love shirt dresses for work because you can just throw them on under a long cardigan and run out of the house. This shirtdress by Adam Selman shows that the white shirtdress can be a lot of fun. Check out my picks which are both fun and great for work!
